Our Club colors are Blue and Silver on a Black background. We
wear three piece patch because we can. Our center patch is a
skull head mounted on an Iron Cross. The blue in the eyes of the
skull represent the fact that we are Law Enforcement Officers.
The skull itself represents the many Brothers we have lost in the
line of duty. These Brothers paid the ultimate price protecting and
serving the innocent. The Iron Cross represents the acts of
heroism of our fallen Brothers. As the Iron Cross was originally
established to recognize such acts. Our top rocker states Iron
Brotherhood because that's who we are. Our bottom rocker
indicates the state in which the Chapter resides in. The founding
Chapters bottom rocker states So. Cal because that's where
the Iron Brotherhood was born.
Members of motorcycle clubs are often viewed in a negative light by traditional society. This perception has been fueled by the movies, popular culture, and highly publicized incidents. One of the earliest and most notorious of these occurred in Hollister, California in 1947 and is now dubbed the Hollister riot. Wether or not an actual riot occurred is debatable, but there was a motorcycle rally in Hollister from July 4th through July 6th of that year that was attended by about 4000 people. Several newspaper articles were written that, according to some attendees, dramatized the event. Additionally, Life Magazine ran an article with a staged photograph of an intoxicated subject on a motorcycle parked in a bar. The film "The Wild One" starring Marlon Brando, was inspired by the event, and it became the first in a series of movies that depicted bikers and members of motorcycle clubs in this stereotypical manner. The press asked the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) to comment on the Hollister incident and their response was that 99% of motorcyclists were law-abiding citizens, and the other one percent were outlaws. Thus was born the term, "one per center". The Iron Brotherhood MC wears the 99% ER patch. Members of the Iron Brotherhood respects all clubs
and the colors they wear. However members do not
associate with members of 1%er clubs. We also do not
attend events sanctioned by 1%er clubs. The IBMC
respects all clubs right to exist.
